Training Courses Introduction
Listed within this Training Course section of the Derby RFC website are a variety of courses covering Coaching, Refereeing and First Aid.
Select one of the Training headings in the left hand navigation menu and a list of Course dates and venues will be shown.
Use the 'Booking Form' to register your interest in attending one of the Courses and once your request has been reviewed you will be notified as to whether Course attendance has been agreed.
If you have any questions about any of the Courses then by all means speak with either Roxy Fearon or Tracy Edmundson (Derby RFC Coaching Co-ordinators). Roxy's and Tracy's contact details can be found within the Colts section or Minis & Juniors section of the Contacts page.

Rugby Ready Courses
As from 1st September 2009, you
will need to have attended the IRB Goodyear
Rugby Ready course before starting your Level
One award.

Level 2 Certificate in Rugby Union Courses
Please note to be successful in
gaining a place on the Level 2, you will need to
hold a Leverl 1 Certificate in Coaching Rugby
Union and demonstrated that you have attended
coach development (CPD) in line with your Level
1 Action Plan.
Coaching Development courses (CPD) are run
throughout the region in line with the needs
identified by Club Coaching Coordinators and CB
Coaching Development Committees. Applicants
should also have significant experience (playing
or coaching) of the 15-a-side game.
Applications are “screened” to ensure that the
coach has the appropriate knowledge and skills
to attend this level of course and that they
derive a positive learning experience from the
programme. Please ensure that all application
forms are fully completed.

CPD Courses
CPD plays an important part in
the development of a coach, and coaches should
undertake these courses before, after and
alongside attendance at qualification courses.
The courses are designed to support coaches with
training appropriate to the type of player they
are working with. Within rugby union there are
five broad categories of player: adult
performance, adult participation, talent
development, youth and children.
