Alan White recovering from serious illness in Royal Derby Hospital

Alan White, Derby Veterans stalwart, is currently recovering from sepsis in Royal Derby Hospital. Alan, aged 50 and a very popular member of the club, contracted the illness in the New Year and has since been in intensive care.

A former Wasps first team flanker, Alan now plies his trade in the front row. He also represents both Derbyshire and NLD Veterans with distinction, and is renowned for his big hits. Off the field, Alan is a generous sponsor of Derby RFC and has employed many players at Fresh Logistics, his very successful business.

The whole of Derby Rugby Club and the local rugby community are right behind Alan in his battle to restore good health. Anyone wishing to visit Alan in hospital should please contact Derby Vets’ captain Barend Gildenhuys to arrange a suitable time (barend.gildenhuys@yahoo.co.uk).
